"your Twin Brother"

Her voices landed
like loose coins
at my feet—
small, cold, heartless.
I trimmed my hair
but kept my bangs,
soft across my eyes like before.
Weird she used "twin brother",
that depicts my "different" look,
a word tossed carelessly between us.
I tried to hide my awkwardness in class,
and inside
it felt brutally rude—
like someone trying
to rename the moon.
